Zaf and Haley won a poster award at the 2025 Gower Symposium!

Congratulations to Zaf and Haley for winning a poster award at the 2025 Gower Symposium, held on Sep. 19, 2025 at the Gower Translational Research Center.

In their poster titled "2D IR spectroscopy detects substrate analog interactions and dynamics in the SET7/9 methyltransferase active site" they presented their research on using synthetic peptides to study the fast motions of an enzyme and how it can be correlated to its catalytic activity. 2D IR spectroscopy is used to detect these fast interactions in the femtosecond-picosecond timescale.

Dr. Bob and Mary Beth Gower were present and attended the poster session and presentations from senior graduate students.
